My Favorite Author

My favorite author is Mike Lupica, this is because he writes a lot books about sports and that is my favorite genre. My favorite Mike Lupica book is Summer Ball. Summer Ball is about a young boy who goes to a sleep away basketball camp and it is really cool because they talk a lot about current basketball coaches and players. All of the dorms are made after colleges and they end up playing games and doing tournaments. The main reason I liked this book is because I would love to be at the camp that the kid went to. Another Mike Lupica book I like is Travel Team. This book is about a young boy and he tries out for his basketball team and doesn't make it but after working hard the whole summer he eventually makes the team the next year. I like the way that Mike Lupica embraces the underdog story in most of his books, this makes his books extra intriguing.

Why I hate to read

One of the main reasons I do not like to read is because on a beautiful day I would rather spend my time running around and enjoying the nice weather instead of reading a book. I feel that if I wasn't running around I would be hurting myself by reading a book. Another reason I do not like to read is because it is anti technology. I feel that playing a video game expands your imagination more than a book will because you get to experience it instead of read about it. I'm not saying that reading doesn't make you have a great imagination because it does, but I feel like why would you read about it when you can be apart of it. I also feel that it is very important to pay attention to the news and watch CNN or Good Morning Joe. Why waste your time reading fictional books that are not true when you can watch the news and find out about the stuff that affects you and the world around you. It is very important to make use of the new technology that is being provided to us. It seems like inventions and new technology are at an all time high right now and why would we waste our time reading a book when there are so many new and exciting inventions happening around us. You never know you might be interested in these inventions and find a career out of it.

My Perfect Reading Spot

My ideal reading place is during a nice colorful sunset, sitting on my Adirondack chair which I clear stain three times a week. If all ingredients are necessary I would love to have a nice fresh squeezed lemonade, from the finest lemons in the world. I would also have a fan on full blast so that the nice cold air would trickle upon my toes and move its way up to my sternum and eventually on to my face. I would also like to have the sun beating down on my skin, at the perfect temperature, so that is the perfect amount to get a nice tan but not hot enough to have sun screen in hand. Although it is unlikely it would be nice to have a maid that would serve me only the finest fruits whenever I ask.

The Books of My Life

Favorite Childhood Book -By My Brothers Side By: Tiki Barber and Ronde Barber

This book was written by my two favorite football players and the time and I thought that the book related to my life alot because I also had a brother that was around the same age as me and we were both best friends and did everything together.

Book that inspired me- Believe By Eric LeGrand and Mike Yorkey

I recently read this book for my readers choice class. I received this book for Christmas and never had time to read it and once I had the chance to I immediately chose this book. This book is about a football player who became paralyzed and his courage and belief in God is getting him through the whole process.

Celeb or Historical Memoir I Admire- Through My Eyes- Tim Tebow

This is another book that I read for my Readers Choice class when I picked this book I had no idea how it was going to be because I had heard nothing about it. It definitely lived up to my expectations. At one point I was convinced I could not put the down. I had always been a fan of Tim Tebow and this book made more of a fan.

Book I Recommend to friends- Miracle of St Anthony-    Adrian Wojnaworski

I not only recommend this to my friends but I also recommend it to any basketball fan. I loved this book because of my previous knowledge about the St Anthony Friars basketball team. Its about a struggling high school struggling to stay open and one of the most famous High School Basketball coaches of all time brings them back up on to their feet.

Favorite book Read for School- No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency-  Andrew McCall Smith
I wouldnt say I liked this book but it was my favorite book that  I read in school. I thought it was interesting how Mama Ramotswe solved the cases that were assigned to her. I would not recommended for people who are reading for fun though.

Favorite Book that went to the screen- Perks of Being a Wallflower- Stephen Chbosky

I really liked this book because of the format and how it was written inside a diary. It was also interesting because I was around the same age as the main character in the book, and I knew and had been in most of the situations the main character was talking about.

Character that I identify with- Eric LeGrand

I think I am most like Eric LeGrand because we both share the same beliefs and have both been through our share of hard times. We both think that courage and confidence is what will get you through hard times of your life.

My name is Mike and Reading is one of my favorite pass times. I am currently taking a readers choice class in my high school. Some of my favorite books are usually sports books since I like sports. I also like to read about mysteries or thrillers since they are page turners. Unlike the common person I am not a fan of war books, for some reason they do not interest me and I find them boring. Im usually a fan of action books but some of them do not interest me. I have never disliked a sports book, they never fail to grasp my attention. So for any teachers who are planning on assigning me a book I suggest you make it about sports. One of the best sports books I have ever read is Miracle of St Anthony's. It was not only about my favorite sport basketball, but it was also very inspiring. Another good sports book that I have read is Through My Eyes, which is about Tim Tebow. Tim Tebow is one of my favorite athletes. My least favorite book is The White Tiger which I had to read my freshman year for summer reading. My brother recommended it to me. Not one sentence in the whole book caught my attention. The only book that I read over the summer and liked is Perks of Being a Wallflower, I liked how it was written in notes. I dislike anything written by Shakespere, the way it is written and the words he puts in it come off like a different language in my head. I tend to like books that inspire me to better myself and everyone around me. A book that I have read that inspires me is The Kevin Everett story, it is about a football player who was paralyzed on the field and through his determination he was able to walk again. This book gave me a new outlook on life and made me appreciate what I have. I like to read about medical related events. I find it interesting how far medical technology has come and
how smart people are. People would enjoy this blog because, I like to read and analyze the good and the bad in books.
